About this collection

These images come from the archive of the Nathan S. Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research (NKI). They show former Institute directors, as well as some State and local politicians, and other notable mental health figures. The images date from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s.

NKI is a research facility of the New York State Office of Mental Health, located on the Rockland Psychiatric Center campus in Orangeburg, NY. Since its founding in 1952, NKI researchers have made numerous contributions to the field, always with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of people suffering from psychiatric disorders.

Additional archival materials are housed in the NKI Health Sciences Library. For more information, please visit nki.rfmh.org. If you have questions about Dr. Kline, NKI, or its history, you may contact the NKI librarian at webmaster@nki.rfmh.org.
