NotesThis house was built by the Rev. Stephen Goetchius, who served in the Reformed Church from 1775 to 1796. The Rev was married to Elizabeth Dubois, who was the daughter of Captain Louis Dubois. Engraved in a large stone above the front door is the date 1791. When the Rev. left the village in 1796, Roelif elting purchased the house and it remained in the Elting family until it was purchased and restored by Dr. Morgan in 1961. - NP Independent and Times, 7-31-1963
