DescriptionThe family memoirs of the Sands (Sandys) family, written by Arthur Sands, grandson of William Bard, and nephew of St. Stephen's founder John Bard. Arthur's father was Ferdinand Sands, who married William Bard's daughter Susan. Ferdinand and Susan died within a year of each other, leaving five young sons to be raised by their grandparents, William and Catherine Cruger Bard--already parents to twelve children, many of whom had died in infancy.
