Notes	The first school in New Hurley was located on the corner of Dennison Road and Route 208 and was physically in the Town of Gardiner. Standing in the path of the tunnel for the New York Water Works in 1908, the school, which was said to be over 100 years old, was torn down and students attended school in the tenant house of Mr. Tompkins until the new school was built in 1909. The new school house was situated in the Town of Plattekill, north of the New Hurley Reformed Church along Route 208. This school was closed in June 1944 due to centralization with the Wallkill School District. Mrs. Ruth Dylewski was the last teacher at this school.
