Description	This building, located at the intersection of Maple Avenue and South Street in Clintondale, was built about 1800 by an early Quaker settler named Heaton. About 1810, a section of it became the first store in the Clintondale area, and it continued as a store and a dwelling until another building was erected for the store across the street in 1844. In later years, probably the mid to late 1890s, when Clintondale became a popular vacation area, it was enlarged and used as a popular boarding house called "Bonnie Brae Inn." It was bought by the School District in 1931 and became the dwelling of the principal and classrooms for the 5th through 8th grades. Before it closed in 1962 it housed the kindergarten, the 5th and 6th grades as well as the school kitchen and library.
