Description	Pencil drawing on lined paper, signed "Louisa Hasbrouck July 14, 1845." Drawing is of the Jonathan Hasbrouck House, which later became Washington's Headquarters. Smoke is coming out of one of the three chimney's and the Hudson River is located on the left hand side, indicated by the boat. Shrubs or trees are drawn on both side of the house, with a few plants along the front view. The roof is drawn to indicate cedar shakes.; Louisa Hasbrouck was 14 years old when she drew this pencil drawing. A similar image of Washington's Headquarters ( or the Jonathan Hasbrouck House) was created by Currier & Ives in 1837, which might be the source of Louisa's drawing. Jonathan Hasbrouck (1722-1780) owned this house for 28 years, before it became Washington's Headquarters. Jonathan Hasbrouck is Louisa Hasbrouck's second cousin three times removed . Washington's Headquarters (or the Jonathan Hasbrouck house) is an example of early vernacular architecture showing the unique mixture of Dutch and English style. The original three-room stone houses, the origin of Washington's Headquarters, is thought to have built by a German in 1724.
