Translation
It
is
again
time
to
hand
in
our
composition
and
I
have
concluded
to
give
a
description
of
my
home
and
I
hope
this
subject
will be as
acceptable
to
my
teacher
as any.
I
live
in a
white
two
story
frame
building
with
green
blinds
.
It
is
very
pleasantly
situated
on a
small
hill
on the
east
bank
of a
branch
of the
Wallkill
.
It
has a
very
large
and
pleasant
yard
in
front
which
is
surrounded
by a
white
picket
fence
.
It
contains
several
fruit
trees
such
as
cherry
,
plum
and
peach
trees
and
it
also has a
couple
of
locust
trees
in
it
.
It
also has
several
different
kinds
of
shrubbery
in
it
such
as
rose
bushes
&c
. On the
small
stream
near
the
is
built
a
sawmill
and a
gristmill
.
Just
in
front
of the
house
is
the
main
road
between
New
Burgh
and
New
Paltz
.
It
is
much
travelled
by
persons
in
all
kinds
of
business
. On the
north
side
of the of the
house
is
a
garden
which
produces
several
kinds
of
vegetables
and
different
sorts
of
flowers
. The
house
has
several
outhouses
around
it
and
on the
other
side
of the
road
there
is
a
small
house
which
is
painted
white
and
is
now
inhabited
by a
man
who
is
a
miller
. There
is
also a
small
house
situated
on a
hill
on the
other
side
of the
creek
there
now
lives
in
it
a
poor
man
and his
family
.
When
the
creek
is
high
the
roaring
of the
waters
can
be
distinctly
heard
from the
house
.
Whatever
other
people
think
of
my
home
I
think
it
is
a
very
pleasant
one
and
I
wish
I
could
be there
today
.
