Description	Carte de visite shoulder high studio portrait of Laura Tallmadge Hasbrouck. The carte de visite has two thin gold lines around the entire edge, which was predominantly used between 1863-1866. Her hair is parted in the middle and pulled back around her ears. She is wearing glasses and has a large pendant at her neck. Her bodice is dark colored, with a ruffle down the center and a white collar is visible.
Notes	Laura Tallmadge Hasbrouck, the youngest child of Levi and Hylah Bevier Hasbrouck, was born January 19, 1834. Laura like her sisters was tutored at home and later attended the Poughkeepsie Female Collegiate Institute. In 1873, Laura Tallmadge married a widower with three children Abraham Varick of Poughkeepsie, New York. Laura Tallmadge later inherited her ancestral home Locust Lawn, and held the title until 1925 when she died at the age of 91.
