Written on the back of the photograph in ink is 'Mrs George Innis' and 'Ann B. Hasbrouck.' Abraham Bogardus (1822-1908), the owner of Bogardus photographers, refitted the old Root Gallery at 363 Broadway in 1862, by 1869 his new studio was on 1153 Broadway, but still maintained the 363 Broadway address as well. Ann Bevier Hasbrouck, the second daughter of Levi and Hylah Bevier Hasbrouck, was born in May 11, 1827. Ann Bevier was educated at home by tutors until she attended the Newburgh Academy, Ulster County, New York. In 1855, Ann Bevier Hasbrouck married George Innis of Poughkeepsie, New York. The couple resided in Poughkeepsie, where they had two children, Martha and Hasbrouck Innis. Ann Bevier died in 1906 at the age of 79.
