Jr - Sr High dedication attracts 1000 visitors
On December 6th the Nanuet Junior-Senior High School was officially dedicated. Not only the residents of the school district, but all members of the Nanuet school system should take a great deal of pride in this beautiful structure. The building, which cost approximately $2,000,000 is one of the finest schools constructed in the State of New York. The members of the teaching staff as well as the administration and Board of Education were pleasantly surprised as approximately 1000 people visited the building on dedication day.
The dedication program included such events as musical selections by the Nanuet School Orchestra and Choral Group, led by our own Ronald Thomas; also a medley of songs sung by Mrs. Carl Grosch, a resident of the Nanuet school district. Representatives of various Nanuet religious organizations were also in attendance at the meeting. We were fortunate in having as our principal (sic) speaker, Mr. Anthony E. Terino, Chief of Secondary School Supervision in the State of New York. Through the courtesy of the P.T.A., refreshments were served to all in attendance. At the conclusion of the ceremonies, the residents of the school district were conducted on a tour of the building.
