Description	This studio portrait of a seated bride with upswept hair, high neckline and pouter pigeon style bodice is characteristic of middle/upper-middle class women's garments of this period. The bridal gown's bodice is adorned with a variety of machine-made laces, and its side fullness is created by the use of smocking which can bee seen near the proper right (left as one looks at it) underarm. There is evidence of embroidery at the hem of the gown and along the edge of the veiling. She wears no jewelry, but does have above-the-elbow length cloth gloves. Possibly the most unusual feature is the extraordinary corseted waist. She is seated in the wicker chair that seems to be the signature of the photographer in this series.
