Description	Notice dated January 24, 1803 offering a ten dollar reward for the return of a slave named Susanna and her son, Abraham. The two ran away from Robert Gill. The notice states that Susanna's husband, Peter, a free man, may have helped her and her son escape from their owner.
Notes	The 1800 Hurley census lists both Cornelius Newkirk Jr. and Cornelius Newkirk Sr. as owning six slaves each. Ebenezer Baldwin of Poughkeepsie has one person listed in the All Other Free People category. Stephen Hendrickson had five people listed in the All Other Free People category.

Transcript	Ten Dollars Reward. RUNAWAY from the subscriber, last evening, a Negro Wench named Susana, with her son, named Abraham, (commonly called Brom) formerly the property of Cornelius Newkirk, jun. of Hurley. It is supposed her husband, named Peter, a free man, who has worked at Mr. Hendrickson's and Mr. Baldwin's in Poughkeepsie, has conveyed her away- She is a tall slim wench, appears somewhat in years, has a large wart over her left eye, her common language Dutch- dress unknown. Her son is about 9 years old, a likely boy, had on a dark snuff coloured coat, yellow waistcoat and a light coloured coating pair of trousers. Whoever shall bring the said runaways to the subscriber, or lodge them in Poughkeesie jail, shall have the above reward, and all reasonable charges paid by ROBERT GIL Poughkeepsie, January 24, 1803.
