Transcript	Know all Men by those Presents that I Solomon Bevier of the precinct of the New-Paltz in the County of Ulster and State of New York Farmor. For and in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty Five Pounds Current money of New York to and in hand paid by Roelof Josias Eltinge of the Precinct of New Paltz in the County of Ulster aforesaid. The Receipt whereof I Do hereby acknowledge and my self to by therewith fully Satisfyed…Have Bargained and Sold and by these presents to bargain Sell and Confirm unto the Said Roelof Josias Eltinge; A Negro boy Slave named Sam. To have and to Hold the said Negro Boy named Sam unto the said Roelof Josias Eltinge, his Executors Administrators and Assigns forever. And I the Said Solomon Bevier for myself, my Executors and Administrators, tho Said Negro boy Named Sam unto the Said Roelof Josias Eltinge, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, against me the Said Solomon Bevier, my Executors, Administrators and assigns and against All and Every other Person, or Persons,- whatsoever, Claiming, or to Claim, any Interest in the Said Negro boy, Shall and Will warrant and Forever Defend, by those Presents. In Witness whereof I have unto Set my hand and seal this Seventh Day of August In the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and- eighty Nine - - - Sealed and Delivered Solomon Bevier (seal) In the Presence of- John Low Ezekiel Eltinge
