New York State is rightfully proud of its fine community college system and Dutchess Community College has always been among those institutions cited for excellence.
Its curriculum, staff and facilities are a great source of pride to the thousands of Dutchess County residents who have taken advantage of the State and local educational partnership, which is the community college. It began in 1957 with a motto that stated, "Education for a democracy of excellence." I believe the College has fulfilled that mandate with distinction in its first quarter century of service to the Mid-Hudson region.
My congratulations to the faculty and students upon celebrating this important milestone. Congratulations also to the people of Dutchess County for having the foresight to join in this educational endeavor.
Now, THEREFORE, I take great pleasure in citing Dutchess Community College and extending my best wishes for a happy anniversary celebration.
