Dear Sir:-
As winter approaches we are reminded "to put our house in order" and prepare for the ills and accidents of life. We send this as a reminder that your fire apparatus should be looked after, fire pails should be filled up, hose examined to see if it has not become rotten, and the fire extinguishers, (in which we have a lively interest,) should be emptied out and fresh charges put in. Some of our customers have had these machines for from ten to twenty years. We must remind you they are "Machines", legs and brains they have not, and therefore cannot look after themselves.
We would suggest that your engineer or man in charge be instructed to thoroughly examine your extinguishers and see if they are all right and in order, and that they are properly charged and ready for instant use. If they need any alterations or repairs, new hose or chemical charges we will be pleased to furnish same at lowest possible prices. Their quick and efficient action when needed rebounds to our credit, and very often secures us orders, hence our interest that they shall be in thorough working order is as great as your own.
We enclose postal card for your reply and shall be pleased to quote you at any time upon whatever you may need in the Fire Protection line.
Respectfully yours,
S. F. Hayward & Co.
