Indenture Gelston to Smith

              This Indenture made the Nineteenth day of September in the third year of the Reign of Out Soverign Lord George the third of Great Britain France & Ireland King Defender of the the Faith and in the year of Our Lord God One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty three Between Samuel Gelston of the precinct of Goshen in the County of Orange & Province of New York Gentleman and Elizabeth his Wife of the one part and Nehemiah Smith of the same Place Yeoman of the other Part Witnesseth That the said Samuel Gelston for an in consideration of the Sum of five Shillings to him in hand paid by the said Nehemiah Smith the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged he the  said Samuel Gelston hath with the Consent & approbation of his said Wife Testified by her Signing and Sealing these presents Granted Bargained & Sold by these presents doth Grant Bargain & Sell unto the said Nehemiah Smith that Messuage or Tract of Land being One half part or Moisty of Two Certain Lotts of Land Situate lying & being in the East division of the Township of Goshen in the Patent of Wawayanda in the County of Orange & Province of New York known by Lott Number Two & Lott Number Three Bounded as follows to wit, Beginning at a stake & Stones Standing in the North East Corner of Benjamin Jennings Land & Running from thence along the Line of said Jennings Land as the Compass now points South fourty Six degrees & thirty Minutes East Ninety Eight Chain & thirty Six Links to a Stake Standing in the black Meadows on the Line of Goshen Township then North fourty three degrees & thirty Minutes, East Nineteen Chain & Sixty three Links to a Stake then North fourty Six Degrees & thirty Minutes West Nineteen Chains & Sixty three Links to the Place of Beginning Containing One hundred & Ninety three Acres of Land and the Reversion & Reversions Remainder & Remainders Rents and Services of the said premises above mentioned and of every Part & Parcell thereof with the appurtenances To have & to hold the said Messuage of Tennement Lands Hereditaments and premises above mentioned and every part and parcell thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Nehemiah Smith his Executors Administrators & Assigns from the day of the date hereof for and during & until they all End & Term of One whole year from thence next & immediately ensuing & following fully to be compleat & Ended Yielding Paying therefore one Pepper Corn in and upon the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel ??f Demanded to the Intent that by Virtue of these presents and by force of the Statute for Transferring of uses into Possession he the said Nehemiah Smith may be in the Actual Possession of all and Singular the said Premises above mentioned with the Appurtenances and be thereby Enabled to Accept and take a Grant & Release of the Reversion and Inheritance thereof to him & his heir to the only Proper use & behoof of him the said Nehemiah Smith his heirs and assignes forever In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have Interchangeably Set their hands and Seals the day and year above mentioned
