At a regular meeting of this Association held at Grangers' Hall, Goshen, Tuesday, Jan. 8th, 1878, the following resolutions were adopted: Resolved, That the Orange County Milk Producers' Association appoint a committee of seven of its members, to meet with a like number from the New York Milk Dealers' Association who shall be invited to attend at a place and hour designated by this Association, on the 1st and 16th of each month, to fix a basis of settlement for the preceding fifteen days; such prices to be governed by the state of the market at that time. Resolved, That the price decided upon by such committee be published in the New York Herald, on the mornings of the 2d and 17th of each month; and that this Association pledges itself to abide by the decisions of such committee in every instance. Resolved, That such committee is not to be appointed until at least five hundred signatures of members of the Association shall have been obtained in favor thereof. Resolved, That the above committee, or any member thereof, may be superseded by other, appointed in their stead, at the discretion of the Association at any regular meeting thereof. Resolved, That should the 1st or 16th of the month occur on Sunday, the committee will meet the day following. Resolved, That for the purpose of obtaining the sense of the producers of Milk in Orange County, with reference to the foregoing resolutions, the county be divided into districts, and each section be thoroughly canvassed by subcommittee appointed by the town committee selected by the Milk Producers Association. It shall be their duty to visit every Producer in their respective districts - obtain his or her name, the average amount of milk produced in June and December; if the same be shipped to the New York or other market, to creamery, or what other disposition is made of it.
