sign
board

anything

succeeded
in
having
the
Post
Office
called
Hyde
Park
. The
row
of
cherry
trees
leads
over
the
hill
to
Jacobus
Stouthenburgh's
second
stone
house.

notes
on the
Rhinebeck
murals
compiled
for
Olin
Dows
by
Ms
.
Helen
Myers
it
is
noted
that
Hyde
Park's
first
hotel
was
built
ca
1790
and
stood
at the
intersection
of
Market
Street
and the
Albany
Post
Road
(presently
Rt
.
9)
. At
Myers
'
suggestion
,
Dows
adorned
the "
Hyde
Park
Hotel
" with an
image
of
Samuel
Bard's
"
Red
House
" to
make
"
Dr
.
Bard's
temper
more
understandable.
