Description	The eleven male students of the St. Stephen's Class of 1897, accompanied by a professor, wear graduation regalia, as they pose for a group portrait in front of St. Margaret's Well, named in memory of Margaret Bard. According to the college newspaper, The St. Stephen's College Messanger, it was the custom for each senior to deliver a seven-minute oration at commencement. The 1897 commencement ceremony program pamphlet indicates the names of the graduates as Edward Slater Dunlap, Homer Abial Flint, Joseph Patterson Gibson, George Andrew Green, Leopold Kroll, Seth Wolcott Linsley, Edward Hudson Young, Adelbert McGinniss, Reverend Arthur Quincy Davis, Reverend Charles H. Hannah, and Reverend George Henry Kaltenbach.
