ACTA MANENT 1914-1917 [English translation follows] AMERICAN AMBULANCE / FRANCE / SERVICE TO ARMIES / FOR FRANCE / TO THE French and the World / M Henry Montgomery Suckley / Took part as a volunteer in the / American Ambulance Field Service from Feb. 12, 1915, to Feb. 3, 1916; April 18, 1916, to Aug. 19, 1916; and Nov. 11, 1916, to Mar. 20, 1917. / Faithful to the ancestral friendship between France and the United States, he pledged himself to serve in the French Army bringing help on the line of battle to those wounded in the WAR FOR THE RIGHT. Long before the entry of the United States into the war, he campaigned in Alsace, at Verdun, in Lorraine, and with the Army of the East, serving as an ambulance driver, as deputy chief of the American Medical Platoon No. 3, and as Assistant Commander of the American Medical Platoon No. 10.
