My dear Friend,
Your letter mailed yesterday morning and the postscript (or post-print?) mailed "August 4, 10 A. M." was received in Eisenach this morning (1:30). That is quick time, is it not? And much better, I am sure, than Poughkeepsie could do.
How fine you are with the new wheel! I am more than delighted that you have one and if you do not become too much of an expert we may perhaps have some rides together. I fear I have already forgotten the
