with
broken
pediments
and
urn
finials
.
Small
leaded
windows
,
casements
and
transoms
.
One
exterior
brick
chimney
.
Original
weather
vane
.
Two
pillars
at
entrance
,
wrought
iron
gate
.

. The "
Kincraig
"
estate
to
which
this
lavish
stable
once
belonged
was
constructed
on
land
which
the
Tuxedo
Park
Association
sold
to
Mr
.
T
.
Suffern
Tailer
.
Tailer
sold
to
J.M
.
Smith
in
1902
.
George
Grant
Mason
inherited
the
property
from
Smith
and
sold
it
again
to
Tailer
who
was the
chief
promoter
of the
Tennis
and
Racquet
Club
at the
time
.
During
this
time
he also
married
Maud
Lorillard
,
daughter
of the
founder
of
Tuxedo
Park
.
According
to the
1925
map
, the
estate
was
still
owned
by
Mason
, and
according
to
accounts
by
several
Park
residents
,
Mr
.
Mason
was to have been
extremely
generous
in
various
gestures
to the
Park
of a
philanthropic
nature
, but he
shunned
publicity
and
matters
were
hushed
. The
1903
Atlas
indicates
estate
with
outbuildings
. The
race
track
built
by the
Tuxedo
Horse
Show
Association
was
situated
some
short
distance
within
the
gate
and was the
center
of a
natural
amphitheater
. The
large
amount
of
stables
in the
Park
attest
to the
popularity
of
riding
and
racing
at the
turn
of the
century
. The
race
track
stopped
functioning
in
1925
.
