Description	Inventory form for building located on Tower Hill Rd. recording the following information: Thomas Parker House (owner at time of inventory). A two and a half story stucco on frame, some half-timbered elements. Two symmetrical wings with a central block. Slate roof. Pentagonal bay with continuous fenestration has transoms. 9/9 with transoms. Gabled dormers. Plain weatherboard trim. Built in 1886 by Bruce Price (1845-1903). According to Headley, Travis C. Van Buren was one of the first property holders after Dr. Henry, Pierre Lorillard's personal physician. Designed in 1896 for Travis C. Van Buren, brother to the President of the United States, by Bruce Price, this severely altered structure was considered to be one of the most original houses in America (Scully quoting George Sheldon in ARTISTIC COUNTRY SEATS, N.Y., 1886-7, 2 Vols.). Half-timbering has replaced what was a completely shingled structure, an essential Palladian window has been removed and the front entrance now projects beyond the planes of the house. Two symmetrical windows have been added. Mr. Price's original design has been totally obscured. The stable which appears on the 1903 map has been converted and is now owned by Isabell Ainsworth, directly across on Tower Hill Road.
