Hon'd Aunt Marbletown Nov 9 1773 Correspondence United States -- History -- Colonial Period, ca. 1660-1775 Roads DeWitt, Ch, Hoornbeck, Benjamin
Mr Boucker has been to New York
and is encouraged by the Proprietors of the Great
Pattent and Really agreed as he says with them
to Open a Road from Papaconk to Lagawack
he Desired me to Speak to the People at
Rochester which I have done last night and the
People there & at Warwarsink have with Great
Resolution as it seems Resolved to make the
Road at least as far as the Neversink from
Lagawack and as you have a very considerable
interest in Land that way, and at the Drowned
Lands, which if a Road is made must
immediatly increase in value and will
Doubtless much promote the Settlement
of it, the People there (as is usual from
you) expect a Liberal Donation towards
the opening of said Road if you opose to
do any thing towards it. [ ] said a line
to Benjamin Hoornbeck who I believe
is appointed Manager, if you should
Chuse to send a man a month it will be
best as the season is so far advanced
to send or write to B. Hoornbeck to procure
you four [ ] a week. I expect in a
few
