Description	The Sibyl was a newspaper edited by Lydia Sayer Hasbrouck (1856-1864, published between 1856 and 1864. The main focus of the paper was the new reform dress, also called "the bloomer", which usually consisted of a knee-length dress and a pair of trousers. An image of a woman wearing a reform dress is printed at the top of the front page of every issue of paper. Although the reform dress was the main focus of the paper, The Sibyl also addressed others women's issues such the "water cure" (which encouraged a less invasive and more preventative health care for women). Although Lydia Sayer Hasbrouck was the primary writer, The Sibyl eventually became a collection of voices involved in the Dress Reform Association (est. 1856). Lydia embraced and promoted all of the ideas of her paper in her day to day life; she always wore a reform dress (even for her wedding), acquired an education in water cures and encouraged women to improve their health and lives in her paper, all while serving as a wife and mother.
