Description	Orpheus Before Pluto - Orpheus, the sun of Apollo, played the lyre so well that even the trees and rocks followed him around when he played. His beautiful wife, Eurydice, was bitten by a serpent and died. Orpheus followed her to the regions of the dead, and played so sweetly before Pluto, its king, that he finally consented that Eurydice should go back with him to the land of the living. - letterpress caption from verso of postcard; also contains handwriting.
