Description	Warp: natural cotton and blue dyed wool. Filling: natural cotton and blue dyed wool. The lay out of the design elements (large scale medallions and diamonds) in this coverlet are reminiscent of period carpets. The coverlet is seamed down the center. Applied owners marks in red and blue wool cross-stitch (P.E.LF., and M.J.I.F.) appear on both the front and the back. The coverlet has LeFevre family provenance.
Notes	The donor of this coverlet, Jean Elting LeFevre Linton, was the granddaughter of Peter Elting LeFevre (1857-1894) and Magdalene Elting. The owners mark (P.E.LF) may stand for Peter Elting LeFevre. The works in this exhibition are on display from October 16-December 12, 2010 and January 26-March 18, 2011 at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at the SUNY New Paltz, 1 Hawk Drive, New Paltz, NY.
