Dear father and mother
i[sic] reseved[sic] your kind
Letter and was glad
to hear from you[.]
this leaves me well at
present i hope that theas[sic] few
Lines will find you the same[.]
i[sic] sent you a Letter last weak[sic]
with __ a Check of fifteen
dollars in[.] john tubs [Tubbs] is Dead he
was beured [sic] Last Sunday[.]
Tom Dwit [Dewitt] had reseved[sic] a letter to
send me a par [sic] of boots[.]
the boys is all well tell coony
that I send my best respects
to him and all inquiring
friends write as soon as you
reseve[sic] this I think I will be
home next fall[.] Direct to
