In the name of the lord amen
Be it known to everyone present here that today
The twenty-sixth day of august In the
Year of our lord One thousand seven hundred and
twelve I undersigned Jean Haesbrouck
of the New paltz in the County of ulster In
the province of New York In America being
sound of body and having
perfect possession of my senses and understanding[,]
the lord Be praised for his mercy[,] considering
the shortness and frailness of human life[,]
the certainty of death and the uncertain time thereof
And desiring to arrange for all things
make this my last will
And testament In form and manner following
below. Revoking canceling and Annulling
hereby all and any testament or testaments
will or wills previously made or passed
Be it by word or in writing. And that this alone
be taken as my last will and Testament and no other

my Creator and To jesus Christ my
redeemer and To the Holy Ghost my
sanctifier And my body to the Earth
whence the same came from to be buried in A
Christian fashion And rest there until my

salvation which God of his grace

| Notes | Jean Hasbrouck was born in Calais, France. He married Anna Deyo (1644-1694). They married in 1676 in Manheim, Germany. Jean left three daughters, Mary, who married Isaac Dubois; Hester, who married Peter Gumaer. and Elizabeth, who married Louis Bevier of Marbletown. He also had three sons: Abraham, who went to England and never returned; Isaac who died some time before his father, and Jacob, who married Hester Bevier. Jacob and Hester inherited the homestead and built the house still standing on Huguenot Street. - Information from Ralph Lefevre's, History of New Paltz and its Old Families. |
