Friday Morning
All well & considerable news to
tell though perhaps you have heard it one thing
is Richard Oliver is married, guess to whom you
will have to give it up, so I will tell you. do you
reccolect (sic) Mary Waring that used to be young lady
when we were. She was now the widdow (sic) Potter
he became acquainted last winter at Albany
Cousin M--- told it. Last evening just after
we had the lamp lit. someone knocked at the
door & who should it be but Cousin M & little
G.---. Cousin A came just after they started after
dinner [.] took tea at Cornelia’s it seem theres (sic)
principal business is to fit Cate out who is to
be married the last of this month , they are
very friendly & seem in fine spirits, again
to the butter they say it sold last week in NY
for 25 cts so this morning I asked the Captain what
he paid yesterday I heard them say they had bought
some he said 23cts, so you must do as best
suits you or which will be the most advantage
to you, do not make me any consideration
it may be no butter would taste as good
now as it used to us many things do not, write
by Tuesday any – way.
We have heard all the
particulars of the last party, how remarkably
well they have done. if some one at the other
end of the congregation would try it too it would
be no more than ____. I have again a little
cold in my head it beats all yesterday I felt
uncommonly well all afternoon & slept first rate
