Dearest Sister
I have just read your
long kind letter & am greatly obliged
[I] am sorry to hear of your being unwell
or rather having been so. & am also
sorry that you have thought I was more
delicate about asking for things I
thought I was quite as free about
it, as I have had so much. you send
without asking. you have learned to
know my wants so well from form[al]
requests I feel greatly indebted for
your Kind offers & gifts. The fowl
I enjoyed very much we all had
soupe (sic) on Saturday it I ate about
a quart & saved some for next day
but having company I did not eat
it untill (sic) Monday & the weather
being so warm I think it must
have been a little spoiled, about
two hours after I commenced feeling
very sick I was afraid to vomit it
strains me so but I was obliged too (sic)
