RULES AND REGULATIONS
MADE BY THE
WATER COMMISSIONERS
OF THE
VILLAGE OF CHESTER, N. Y.,
FOR THE USE OF
WALTON LAKE WATER.
1. All applications for Water must be made by the owner of the property where the water is to be used.
2. Applications for Water must state fully and truly all purposes for which it is required, and, at all times, parties must, frankly and without concealment answer all questions put to them relating to its consumption. In case of misrepresentation for of use of the water not mentioned in the permit, or of waste of water, the Water Commissioners shall have the right to shut off the supply of water until they shall be satisfied that there will be no further cause of complaint, and the party has paid such fines and additional charges as they may impose, and five dollars for shutting off and turning on the water.
3. No person other than the tapper licensed by the Water Commissioners shall tap any street pipe or main. under a penalty of $50.
4. Service Pipes hereafter laid must be four feet deep and of lead and all that part of the street must be full weight, laid with a bend in form of a "trap" near the street main "requiring at least one foot of extra length. Where any other than lead pipe is used, a permission must be obtained of the Water Commissioners.
5. All connections shall be provided with a good and sufficient wasting stop cock, which shall be covered with an iron box or pipe with a cast iron lid with the word "water" thereon, and shall be placed one foot from the line of the curbstone.
6. No plumber or other person shall conduct water from one service pipe into two distinct premises, unless by special permission from the Water Commissioners, under a penalty of $25.
7. All corporation cocks shall be 3/8 inches in diameter unless by special permit of Board of Commissioners, in writing.
8. Horse Troughs or any other apparatus for the use of water on the sidewalk, except street washers, will not be allowed unless by special permission.
