Articles of agreement Indented made the Twenty Seventh day of April in the year one thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety three Between Abijah Yelverton of the Town of Goshen in the County Orange and State of New York Innkeeper of the first part and Joseph Drake and Thomas Beach of the same town Yoemen of the Second part are as follows (to wit) Whereas the said Abijah Yelverton Executed to Peter Townsend (now deceased) in his lifetime a Bond Conditioned for the payment of five hundred and twenty Pounds Current Lawful Money of the State of New York on or before the first Day of January one thousand Seven Hundred and Eight Two and at the same time gave a Mortgage on Two pieces of Land to Secure the payment of the same as by the said Mortgage or the Record thereof in Liber A of the Records of Mortgages of Orange County Feb 367, 368 x 369 will appear And Whereas the said Joseph Drake and Thomas Beach have upon their own Bonds Borrowed the Several Sums following in Order to enable the said Abijah Yelverton to pay off and discharge the said Bond and Mortgage and thereby to enable the said Abijah Yelverton to sell the said two pieces of Land in from all Lots or as much ther of as will be sufficient to Repay the Money to them the said Joseph Drake and Thomas Beach which they have Borrowed and advanced for his use (to wit) the Sum of three Hundred Pounds Borrowed of John Ellison for which they gave their Bond date the Eleventh Day of March one thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety three payable the 11th Dy of March 1794 with Lawful Interest for the same the Sum of one Hundred Pounds Borrowed of Benjamin Tusten for which they gave their Bond date the 25th of March 1793 payable the 25th March 1794 with Lawful Interest for the same, the Sum of one Hundred and fifty Pounds Borrowed of Barnabas Horton for which they gave their Bond dated the 9th Day of April 1793 payable the 9th Day of April 1794 with Lawful Interest for the same as by the said several Bond will appear and also the Sum fifty pounds Advanced by the said Joseph Drake for the purchase aforesaid payable with Lawful Interest for the same in One Year from the Date hereof and the Sum of one Hundred Pounds Advanced by the said Thomas Beach for the like purpose payable with Lawful Interest for the
