William Knapp - Abijah Yelverton Indendture

              This Indenture Made this Twenty Sixth Day of May in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy eight Between William Knapp of the precinct of Goshen County of Orange and State of New York cordwainer of the first part and Abijah Yelverton of the Same precinct County and State abovesaid Farmer of the other part Witnesseth thatby and with the Convent of Caterine his Wife Signifyed by her Singing and Sealing of these Presents for and in Consideration of the Sum of Four Hundred and Fifteen pounds Current Money of the State aforesaid to him in hand paid by the Said Abijah Yelverton the Reciept whereof the Said William Knapp doth hereby Acknowledge he the Said William Knapp Hath granted bargained and Sold aliened and Confirmed and by these presents doth freely and Absolutely grant bargain and Sell alien and Confirm unto the Said Abijah Yelverton and to his Heirs and Assigns forever All that Certain piece or parcel of Land Situate in the precinct County and State abovesaid and is bounded as follows to with begining at a Shagbark Walnut Tree Marked for the Southwest Corner of a Large Tract of Land called Cromlins Tract and Run thence as the Compass now points South Fifty three Degrees East thirty Chains to the west Side of Sterling Road then northerly along Said Road twenty three Chains and Fifty links to Said Cromlins Tract then along Said Tract South Eighty two Degrees West Twenty eight Chains and Thirty links to the place of Begining Containing Thirty three Acres of Land more of less and ays all Trees wood ways water water courses Easments Profits Comodities Advantages hereditenances whatsoever to the Said piece or parcel of Land and Premises of all and Singular the Said premises and every part thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the Said William Knapp of in and to the Said Tenement and Premises and every part and parcel thereof and To Have and to Hold the Said piece or parcel of Land and Singular the Premises above mentioned and every piece or parcel thereof with Appurtenances unto the Said Abijah Yelverton and to his Heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the Said Abijah Yelverton and to his Heirs and Assigns forever. And the Said William Knapp for himself and his Heirs the  piece or parcel of Land and Premises above mentioned and every part thereof against himself and his Heirs and against all and Every other Person and Persons whatsoever to the Said Abijah Yelverton and to his Heirs and Assigns Shall and will Warrent and forever Defend by these Present In Witness whereof the Said William Knapp and Caterine his Wife hereunto Set their Hands and Seals the day first above Written
