This Indenture made the Sixteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven-hundred and Seventy Eight Between Abijah Yelverton of Chester in the Precint of Goshen in the County of Orange and State of New York Inholder of the one part and Peter Townsend of the same place County and State aforesaid Shop Keeper of the other part. Whereas the said Abijah Yelverton in and by one bond or obligation of two thousand pounds current money of the State of New York with condition there under written for the payment of one thousand seven hundred and eighty one with Interest for the same at four percent per annum Now This Indenture Witnesseth that for the better securing the payment of the said sum of one thousand pounds awarding to the condition of the above mentioned bond or obligation and also for the consideration of the farther sum of then shilling current money aforesaid to him on had paid by the said Peter Townsend at and immediately before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt where of the said Abijah Yelverton hath granted Bargained and sold and by these presents doth fully freely and absolutely grant Bargained and sold aliened Enfecffed Remise Release and Confirm unto the said Peter Townsend and to his heirs or assigns Bargain and Sell forever all these two certain messuages or tenements Lots or pieces or parcels of Lands situate lying and being in the Patent of Wawayanda in the Precinct of Goshen in the County of Orange and State of New York and one of the said messuaged Lot or parcels of Lands is part of a large Tract Called by the Name of Crommeline Tract and is also part of the Lot of land Known in the map of Draft of the said large Tract by Lot Number for and is Bounded as follows to a Beginning at a Black oak Tree marked and standing on the Westwardmost corner of Lot number three now in the property of John Jackson thence running North forty six Degrees and thirty minutes East six chains and forty seven Links to a black oak Tree marked being the corner of a certain pieces of Land purchased by Michael Jackson of James Ensign and being part of the said Lot number four / thence south forty three Degrees East fourteen Chains and twenty five Links to a staked stones thence South fifty nine Degrees West five chains to a stake and stones thence South fifteen Degrees and thirty minutes East thirteen Chains and twenty five Links to a stake and stones thence South fifty Degree East one chain and thirty eight Links to a white oak tree marked thence South twenty three Degrees East nine Chains and ninety Links to a Black oak tree marked thence South thirty degrees West nine Chains to a Walnut sapling marked thence South sixteen Degrees West six chains to a chestnut oak marked thence South one Degree West nine Chains and seventy five links to a stake standing on the west side of Wawayanda Road thence West Eight Degrees South one chain and Eighty Links to a Walnut tree it being the south corner of the above mentioned large Track to Land and from thence along the line of said Tract to the place of Beginning Containing forty two acres and three quarter of and acre be the same more or less within the bounds and Limits aforesaid which said messuages or tenements was John Yelverton Grandfather of the said Abijah Yelverton of James Ensign by a certain Indenture bearing date the Nineteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven-hundred and fifty five and in and by the last Will and Testament of the John Yelverton bearing date the twenty fourth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven-hundred and Sixty amongst several other things in the said Will contained did give and Bequeath unto his said Grand Son the above named Abijah Yelverton all the said messuages or tenements above mentioned and Described as
