~~Bond~~
Know all Men by these Presents, That the Village of Chester, in the County of Orange, New York, acknowledges itself indebted for value received and promises to pay John Y. Gerow and Clarence H. Gerow as Testamentary Guardians of David Wright and Susan Wright, minors, their legal representatives, successors or assigns, the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.) on the first day of July, 1922, with interest thereon from date hereof, at the rate of four and three-fourths per centum (4 3/4%) per annum, payable semi-annually on first days of January and July in each year, until payment of said principal sum.
Both principal and interest of this Bond are payable in lawful money of the United States of America, at the office of the Village Treasurer of the Village of Chester, N. Y., and at the request of the holder will be paid at New York Exchange.
This Bond is one of a series of 14 Bonds of like tenor, except as to due dates, numbered from 1 to 14 inclusive, issued pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 64 of the laws of 1909, known as the Village Law, as amended, a special election held April 28th, 1913, and a resolution duly adopted by the Board of Trustees of said Village June eleventh, 1913.
It is hereby certified and recited that each and every act, condition and thing required to be done, to have happened and to be performed precedent at and in the issuance of the Bond has been done, has happened and has been performed in full and strict compliance with the constitution and laws of the State of New York, and that the issue of bonds of which this is one is within every debt and other limit prescribed by law, and the faith and credit of the Village of Chester, N. Y., are hereby irrevocably pledged to the punctual payment of principal and interest of this Bond according to its terms.
In Witness Whereof, the Village of Chester, N. Y.. has caused this Bond to be signed by the President and Treasurer of said Village, and the seal of said Village to be hereunto affixed and attested by the Village Clerk as of this 1st day of July, 1913.
