This Indenture made this Twentieth Day of March in the Year of our Lord 1782 and in the Sixth year of our Independence, between Peter Glows and William Holly Esq's of the Precinct of Goshen, County of Orange, & state of New York , gentlemen, of the one part, and Richard Jenning of the above Precinct, County and State farmer of the other part, Witnesseth that we the said Peter Clows and William Holly, for and in consideration of the yearly rent and covenants herein afore received and contained on the part of the said Richard Jenning his Executors administrators and Assigns, to be paid, observed and performed,hath demised, granted, and to farm letten; and by these Presents doth demise and grant unto the said Richard Jenning all that Messuage or Tenement now in the possession of the sd Peter Clows and William Holly, situate and lying in the Precinct and bounded as follows: Beginning at a Black-oak Tree, marked for a Corner, Standing in the Line of James Hannah; thence a Southardly course to the North-West corner of Wm. Helm's improved Land; thence a South-East and by Course to the Sterling Road; thence along the Sterling Road to James Hannah's Line; Then west along J. Hannah's Line to the place of beginning: Containing Fifty Acres, be it more or less; With all and Singular the Ways, Waters, and Appurtenances to the sd. Messuage or Tenement belonging, or in any manner of wise appertaining; to have & to hold the sd. Messuage or Tenement, or Premises above mentioned with all the Appurtenances, unto the sd. Richard Jenning his Executors administrators and Assigns from the Day of Date hereof, for and during the Term of seven years thence next ensuing, and fully to be compleat and ended; yielding and paying them for Year during the said Term, unto the Sd. Peter Clows and William Holly their Heirs, and Assigns the yearly Rent of Two Fat sheep, to be paid on the first Day of April During the sd. Term. And the sd. Richard Jenning for himself, his Executors administrators and Assigns to promise all that yearly Rent above mentioned, unto them the sd. Peter Clows & William Holly their Heirs, and Assigns, at the Day and time appointed. And the sd. Richard Jenning promised for himself, his Heirs and Assigns to keep the sd. place in reasonable good repair During the said Term and at the end of the Sd. Term promise quietly and peaceably to resign up the possession to the sd. Peter Clows & William Holly or to their Assigns And the sd. Peter Clows & William Holly for themselves, their Heirs, and Assigns doth Covenant to, and with the sd. Richard Jenning his Heirs Executors Administrators & Assigns, that they shall and may at all times, occupy, improve & possess the sd. Land, without molestation let or hindrance from any person whatsoever under the yearly Rent. and we the sd. Peter Clows & William Holly for ourselves, and our Heirs & Assigns do engage to warrant and Defend all the sd. Land above mentioned unto him the sd. Richard Jenning and to his Heirs & Assigns against the the Lawful Claims of all persons whatsoever during the sd. term. In witness where of we the parties have interchangeably set our hand and seals, the day and year above written.
