Hon. Parents
As I have already wrote several letters Both to you, and my Brother; and my present Situation is such that it affords nothing new, or agreeable to aquaint [sic] you with; I should not think it worth while, to be constantly
writeing [sic] to you; and by that means only remove your uneasiness, by puting [sic] you in mind of my disagree able and unhapy [sic] situation; did I not know, that beeing [sic] assured of my Healh [sic] give you a Satisfaction, which
I think would be a breech of Duty in me to deprive you of. in a letter I wrote you some Day's ago, w' last I aquainted [sic] you that M. Neat has been so good as to send me Credits Security for my Parole; and that I intended to go to Dax in a few Day's; but when I came to consider that the Consequenses [sic] of that, would be runing [sic] risk of loosing my turn in the Carteel [sic]; as well as spending a good deal of Money (which runs away fast enough as it is) I concluded by the advise of my Messmate, it would be best to stay where I am. the other Day
